I’ve been reflecting on the artwork I’ve done over the past year, especially during the pandemic. During the initial “shelter in place” order, when we had to stay in our homes, I challenged myself to keep making art. I looked around and thought, what could I make from what I already have in my home? In what ways has my life changed? I was cooking all the time and I came up with the idea for a book made from kitchen scraps. The pages are made from paper grocery bags, and some are wax paper with onion skins and egg shells. I used coffee filters, tea bags, napkins, chocolate wrappers, and fruit stickers. It was quick, fun, and messy!
