| During two weekends of the annual Open
Studios Art Event 2000 in California's Bay Area, over 70 people visiting
the Tapscott/Lejeune art exhibition were photographed and wrote a brief
message. The artists collaged the images and text together, creating a
web project of over 200 files to both engage Open Studios participants
and use a digital slice of life to emphasize our human connectedness.
We, the artists Tapscott and Lejeune, would like to thank everyone who chose to be immortalized and linked together in the chain of humanity that we have titled, simply, The Community Digital Art Project. In addition, we decided to present two virtual awards for outstanding personal expression. To see the winners, go to the last level of the project, and click the center. Now, begin here. (hint: placing your cursor over an image will reveal comments of the moment during Open Studios 2000.) Digital Oops: Our apologies to Susan, Rebecca, and Tobias, whose likenesses did not photograph, due to technical difficulties. |
